Summary: | 碩士 === 國立高雄第一科技大學 === 環境與安全衛生工程研究所 === 100 === In this highly computerized era, the paper-based workflows are being replaced by computer-based software. A lot of tasks from sending out requests for repair, arranging maintenance resources, to issuing reports all can be done electronically. Equipment maintenance history is of no exception and can accumulate to extreme amount within a few years. A lot of precious information can be extracted from the vast amount of data stored in the computer database. The failure rate data is one such example, which however, requires that database be properly designed in the first place.
The failure rate data extracted from the maintenance and repair history is extremely useful in its wide range of applications. On one hand, the failure rate data is for deducing the temporal change in reliability, while on the other hand, it can be used in conjunction with other tools and provide far more intricate insight to performance of a plant. A huge amount of paper-based maintenance records were kept only for a short period of time and then deleted, which affects the accuracy of failure rate computation with the limited information..
In this study, a web-based scheme was proposed in order to collect and process the maintenance records in an attempt to explore the possibility to form a generic reliability database from a collective effort of the peer chemical industry. Both the raw and processed data are stored in a storage server with a web-based user interface on which individual companies can either upload maintenance records or search for the failure rate data of specific type of equipment. In addition to the direct use in maintenance improvement, in fact there are numerous applications in risk management and overall performance improvement, which are all critical for the sustaining survival of the enterprise.
