碩士 === 國立高雄第一科技大學 === 金融研究所 === 100 === This thesis uses the t test, nonparametric Mann-Whitney U and Kruskal-Wallis ests to investigate whether there are significant differences in the financial ratios of Chang-Hwa commercial bank before and after privatization. Based on these tests, this thesis examines whether privatization helps improve the overall operating performance of Chang-Hwa bank. The empirical results show that privatization increases the scale of operation and the average profit margin per employee of Chang-Hwa bank. However, due to the Asian financial crisis and the United States 911 incident, the asset quality and profitability of Chang-Hwa Bank have declined after the privatization.
