Summary:碩士 === 國立高雄第一科技大學 === 金融研究所 === 100 === The thesis aims to determine which financial ratios are important in identifying thedistress companies by using t-test、Mann-Whitney test and Kruskal-Wallis test to compare the difference between financial ratios of companies under stress , normal companies and industrial average. This thesis selects a random sample of 10 distress companies ( distributes in 10 industries ) listed on the Taiwan stock exchange corporation TSEC from 2001 to 2010. Empirical results found that profitability, financial structure and business capacity are better indicators in identifying companies under stress.
