It locates in Pei-Wu Ley, Bai-Ho District, Tainan. During the Ming-Cheng period, the Han people went upstream from the harbor Daw-Fon-Ne-Hei to the cultivating base which was very close to Da-Pei-Chu. It was also next to the head branch of Bazhang River. On account of the geographic location, Zhaoan Chu had already been cultivated and developed long ago. It has been a significant agricultural district. As Taiwan society has changed, the traditional agricultural society has also developed into an industry and commerce society. Zhaoan Chu like other rural villages has to face the same big issues that the rate of outward migration of the young has been rising and become worse. The elder farmers who have worked industriously a whole life in Zhaoan Chu are the majority that would still like to stay at their hometown and keep accompany with their fields. The phenomenon of aging population in the rural villages makes people sign and feel sorrowful. Nowadays, the development of modern technology, social progresses, markets, supermarkets, and convenience stores in great numbers have facilitated people’s daily lives and needs. However, a resident called A-Fon living in Zhaoan Chu still drives her vegetable cart among vehicles when she is free from busy farming work. The ancient traditional style of selling vegetables way has still existed from 50’s and 60’s until now. There must be a deep-seated meaning and important value behind the existing traditional activity. The purpose of this paper is to discover the distinctive correlation between A-Fon’s vegetable cart and the local residents’ lifestyle in Zhaoan Chu. Through the observations, depth interviews, and studying the secondary documents, the data are organized and analyzed as a result shown below: 1.It factually shows the village development of Zhaoan Chu through the historical path, nature, and humanities. 2.From the landscape to examine the characteristics of Zhaoan Chu’s properties and predicaments. 3.A-Fon’s vegetable cart helps to form a new public space and it is also identified as a “place” where the local residents’ emotions are attached to. 4.The formation of a “place” is always an unruly changing process, which is also a moving local life practice. 5.The unique characteristics of a “place” will be connected as the special forces of the local life. 6.To gather all the people’s local concerns will be able to build a wonderfully happy homeland.
