For many fans of Sudoku, Sudoku can not only entertain them, but also invite them to take challenges on higher-level Sudoku questions which are more difficult and changeable. If the beginners get interested in Sudoku on the initial stage, they are also willing to explore higher-level questions without any motivation. Some beginners will give up learning Sudoku when they don't understand the complexity in the Sudoku Board's lines, texts and numbers. The purpose of this study is to combine labyrinthine multipath with learning interface of Sudoku rules, and to investigate the difference of students’ understanding of Sudoku rules after the learning activity of labyrinthine multipath Sudoku. The study has conducted ARCS with Likert Scale to investigate 73 third graders at one elementary school in Miaoli county participated, and all of them received the same pre-test and post-test. In the meantime, three participants getting low achievements on Sudoku rules were given a deeper interviewing, and the author analyze the process of how their learning interest be guided on the final stage of study,. The results found that the learners are fond of using labyrinthine multipath Sudoku. It can not only increase students' understanding of Sudoku rules but also kindle their interests in Sudoku. ARCS results present that the students identify positive attitude of learning, concentrate on the game illustration, and understand on the connection between labyrinthine multipath and Sudoku rules. It is hoped that the study can provide the reference for designing Sudoku game-based learning in the future.
