The purpose of this research is to evaluate how applying ''stories'' to recorder teaching on fourth grade students will impact students' interest on learning. The researcher took 35 fourth grade students from one elementary school located in Hsinchu county, designed lesson content and elaborate recorder teaching through games, rhythm dancing, rhythm chanting, improvisation, and other Orff's teaching elements to apply stories in recorder teaching.
The researcher was the actual teacher during the study process, and had composed a evaluation team consisted of the classroom's main teacher, school's assisting teachers, and professions from related field. Using relevant research data, teacher's log during study process, interview on students and collaborative researchers, student's learning sheet as the main data collection with recommendations from experts and scholars, the analysis of the research are as follow:
I. Applying "stories" in elementary school recorder teaching provides active, vivid lessons
i. Imaginative atmospheres to understand the essence of chance
ii. Character play to enhance tongue skill
iii. Games to improve finger skill
iv. Add in recorder playing to produce music stories
II. The benefits of applying "stories" recorder teaching in elementary school
i. Promote students' interest in recorder learning
ii. Achieve three goals of Arts and Humanity
III. Story application on elementary school recorder teaching solves problems through research action
Based on the above conclusions, pose specific recommendations to teachers, school administrators, authorities of educational institution and further researchers.
