Summary:碩士 === 國立新竹教育大學 === 人資處美勞教學碩士班 === 100 === The Study of Childen Photography Instruction ─an example from the middle grades of Hsin Chu County Dong HaiElementary School Abstract This study aims to explore how the children photography instruction is used in elementary middle grades visual arts curriculum, looking forward to develop the diversity of children's visual art and daily life aspects, to enhance children's interest in learning and intellectual knowledge, and develop the ability of awareness on the environment for elementary school children, and build up a positive outlook on life. This study has three purposes: 1.Explore the meaning and connotation of children photography in elementary school visual arts instruction. 2.Explore the feasibility of implementation of children photography instruction in elementary school visual arts curriculum. 3.Raise specific recommendations based on the research results, as a reference for the implementation in the elementary middle grades visual arts instruction. Document analysis and action research methods are adopted to explore children photography instruction merge into elementary visual arts education courses with the actual instruction on the third-graders. Applying children photography instruction idea module of visual arts courses for instruction activities, nurturing children's aesthetic qualities through the interaction between children photography and visual arts, to enhance their capacity of environmental awareness; furthermore, furnish them with the ability to find the problem and take initiative to propose a method or strategy. Through the creative process of photography work, student self-assessment, peer assessment, learning sheets, instruction logs, parent feedback form, the observer and advisor’s opinions, parallel with the instruction review and amend introspect logs with qualitative analysis for instruction review and amendment. The conclusion draw from the study of children photography instruction has the following implications: From the experience in instruction activities, the dialogue between visual thinking and photographical observations, combine the “unseen” visual images in daily life with the exploring process of photography creation, all contribute to develop a keen power ofobservation and be able to learn and construct their knowledge. Let the students try on various media and experience the various forms of beauty. Through the appreciation of visual art forms, they might understand the changing faces of arts, think about the meaning and value of the environment, and take a positive outlook on life. Children photography has the nature of "visual", "times", "operational", "autonomy", and "playfulness" of art, which is very different from traditional static arts curriculum, implemented in middle grades, goes with their physical, mental development and their motivation to learn. To proceed from the most familiar surroundings and explore the campus from day to night through the viewfinder, comes up with a very different new vision, and thus enhance their own ability of awareness on the surrounding environment, with regional characteristics, in line with the context of the post-modern era of visual arts education spirit. Curriculum is designed to process with four theme activities, "lens you and me", "image story crossing", " the exploring journey of photography", "Dong-Hai in the camera". After the implementation, it is found children photography instruction using visual arts courses, conform to the syllabus content implemented on one hundred school year, also master the educational goals in the knowledge, skills, affective, and social responsibility level. The middle grades arts and humanities subject areas, integrated areas, the language field, digital computers, flexible courses are merged into the theme to meet the students’ physical and mental development. Students are willing to learn, and their life experience is enriched through a variety of arts skills learning, also culture "the diversity of visual reading” and “the ability to go with" to give rise to other educational values. It is deemed as one of the specific and feasible courses. Based on the findings, we explore the theoretical framework and instruction plans of children photography instruction, focus on the satisfaction and difficulties with curriculum implementation and raise specific proposals and as a reference for diversified program implemented in elementary middle grades visual arts instruction. In the end, based on the findings of this study, proposals are made for curriculum design and instruction implementation, schools, communities, local administrative authorities and the follow-up study.
