Among many risk factors of metabolic syndrome, health behavior is more variability. Liver function was found associated with metabolic syndrome, but few studies use it to predict the occurrence of the metabolic syndrome. The purpose of this study was to investigate the related factors among health behaviors, liver function and metabolic syndrome in adults. This study was a cross-sectional study, and used secondary data analysis to assess the data from the health examination of one county. Participants who were aged 30 years and more were selected in the study, finally there were 4884 individuals were recruited for analysed. Among health risk behaviors, the proportion of alcohol consumption was the highest (22.9%), and among other unhealth behaviors, do not drink milk regularly was the highest (71.1%). Among the liver function of the subjects, the proportion of abnormal globulin index was the highest (16.8%). The prevalence of metabolic syndrome was 33.0%, and the highest prevalence of relevant indicators was blood pressure abnormalities (44.6%). Using logistic regression to examine the risk factor of metabolic syndrome, the study found the factors of female, age more than 40 years, lower educational level, with history of disease, overweight or obese, alcohol drinking, betel nut chewing and abnormal GPT index were significantly related to the occurrence of metabolic syndrome. These findings of the study can be used to guide the prevention measures and appropriate care for health care sectors, in order to promote the health of adult population.
