Summary: | 碩士 === 國防醫學院 === 公共衛生學研究所 === 100 === Aircraft noise is not only affecting the residents living close to the airport, but more threat for hearing and health-related quality of life among airport personnel. The purposes of this study are as follows: (a) to evaluate airport environmental and personal noise exposure. (b) to analyze the relationship between self-assessed hearing loss and noise sensitivity with health-related quality of life among aircraft personnel (c) to estimate the risk factors for health-related quality of life in a sample of aircraft personnel. The study design is cross-sectional study. We assessed environmental and personal noise monitoring, as well as administering a questionnaire to airport personnel working in Zuoying and Taoyuan. Environmental and personal noise datasets are from 20 representative sites of two airports and 68 daily personal noise exposures. There were 301subjects have completed the questionnaire. The result of this study showed that airport environmental and personal noise exposure are below the occupational standards in Taiwan. Health-related quality of life in airport personnel with self-assessed having hearing loss were significant lower than self-assessed not having hearing loss airport personnel (p<0.05), and the relationship between noise sensitivity and health-related quality of life is significant negative correlation. The main impact factors on health-related quality of life included not participating hearing protection workshop, not taking annual hearing test, self-assessed having hearing loss and noise sensitivity on sleep situation. By the results of the study, it will be make appropriate recommendations for hearing protection policy in the future.
