Summary:碩士 === 國立東華大學 === 藝術創意產業學系 === 100 === With the concepts of culture and aesthetic style, this study aims to analyze the aesthetics presentation of the Paiwan female dresses at weddings at Sandimen, to understand the Paiwan reactions and values of beauty and aesthetic styles. The research questions include discussions of the similarity and dissimilarity between genealogical traditions toward dresses making techniques and the aesthetic standard, and the modern ways proceeded in modern workshops and studios. It is a key issue to examine the influences of modern products of dresses makings upon the traditional values and aesthetic presentation of the Paiwan dresses. The study is conducted based on three stages of methods of literature review, case study and creation study. Literature review is used to analyze text of traditional dresses and the modern ones, in order to compare the forms and styles of aesthetic presentation. The village Sandimen is selected as the fieldwork site, to collect photographs of formal Paiwan female dresses as the primary data. Accordingly, the analysis of aesthetic styles of the Paiwan female dresses, especially the dresses worn at weddings, is nurturing as the designing inspiration to the author. A serious of costume design and a fashion show is conducted as a process of self-examination and self-representation.
