Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立東華大學 === 教育行政與管理學系 === 100 === This study investigated perceptions of parent participation in school education and classroom management effectiveness among elementary school teachers and analyzed differences in teachers’ perception of parent participation and classroom management effectiveness across background variables. The research instrument was a self-developed questionnaire called “Parent Participation in Elementary School Education and Classroom Management Effectiveness”. The questionnaire was administered to teachers who served as home-room teachers for regular classes in public elementary schools in Hualien County during the academic year of 2011. A total of 486 questionnaires were distributed. Of 429 responses collected, 425 were valid. The valid response rate was 87.45%. These responses were analyzed on SPSS for Windows 14.0 using methods including t-test, one-way ANOVA, product-moment correlation, and multiple regression analysis. The findings were as follows: 1.Elementary school teachers perceived more parent participation in the aspects of “activity participation” and “receiving messages”. 2.Most elementary school teachers perceived an intermediate level of classroom management effectiveness. 3.They perceived higher effectiveness in “classroom atmosphere creation” and “teaching quality” aspects of classroom management. 4.Elementary school teachers’ perception of parent participation in school education significantly varied across variables including age, duration of service, school size, school location, occupation of students' parents, and ethical composition of students. 5.Their perception of classroom management effectiveness significantly varied across variables including age, school size, occupation of students’ parents, ethical composition of students. 6.Parent participation in school education and classroom management effectiveness were significantly and positively related. 7.Parent participation in school education could predict classroom management effectiveness. Based on the above conclusions, some suggestions were proposed as a reference for the authority concerned, school administrations, parents, teachers, and future researchers.
