Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立東華大學 === 教育行政與管理學系 === 100 === The purposes of this study are threefold. First, it seeks to explore the current status of time management and the teaching effectiveness of elementary school teachers in Yilan County. Secondly, it identifies background variables among teachers in order to account for situational differences. Lastly, it analyzes the correlation between time management and teaching effectiveness of elementary school teachers in Yilan County in order to predict future results. This study distributed a questionnaire to 330 official establishment teachers from 25 public elementary schools in Yilan County who were selected using a stratified convenience sampling technique. Each participant was given two separate questionnaires for the purpose of data collection, one was an “elementary school teachers' time management investigation questionnaire” and the other was a “teaching effectiveness investigation questionnaire.” Finally, the data was analyzed using descriptive statistics, independent sample t-tests, a one-way analysis of variance, a Pearson product-moment correlation, and a stepwise multiple regression. The conclusions were as follows: 1. The time management of elementary school teachers in Yilan County is currently in good condition. According to survey results, “teaching authorization and division of labor" scored the highest performance rating, while “stress management and leisure” have the lowest performance rating. 2. The teaching effectiveness of elementary school teachers in Yilan County is currently in good condition. According to survey results, “teaching achievement and assessment” scored the highest performance rating, and “professional growth and research” have the lowest performance rating. 3. There were significant differences in the teachers’ awareness of their time management performance based on teacher gender and the location of the elementary schools within the greater Yilan County area. On average, female teachers scored higher in this category than male teachers did and teachers in Yilan City scored higher than those in the other towns. 4. There were also significant differences in the teachers’ awareness of their teaching effectiveness performance based on the number of years a given teacher has been working in the elementary school system. In Yilan County, senior teachers tended to score higher than junior teachers in this category. 5. There was a significant positive correlation between time management and teaching effectiveness for elementary school teachers in Yilan County. 6. According to the correlation between time management and teaching effectiveness in Yilan County elementary school teachers found by this study, higher time management levels in any and all categories correspond with and can predict better performance in teaching effectiveness in any and all categories.
