Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立東華大學 === 資訊工程學系 === 100 === Multicast is an efficient routing scheme. It allows transmission of packets to a group of users by using few network resources. To implement multicast in well-connected network is simple but not in DTN. DTN (Delay/Disruption Tolerant Network) is a special type of network environments. In DTN, connecting two nodes may be full of restrictions. It becomes a challenge for communication in such networks. The connections between DTN nodes exist some characteristics such as easily broken connections, high latency, high error rates and so forth. To overcome this problem, the transmission of data in DTN must be achieved by using the store-carry-and-forward approach. In this paper, we propose a Dynamic Quota-Base Multicast protocol (DQBM) in DTN. DQBM distributes the limited quotas over the network, and it also adjusts the number of message quotas based on the condition of the network. Furthermore, it uses a novel i-list and buffer management scheme to make good use of buffer. For the group maintaining, nodes using DQBM do not need to send or receive join and leave messages. Any node can join and leave multicast group freely. We compare the efficiency of DQBM with other famous multicast protocols, and we find out that DQBM indeed presents a brilliant performance in DTN.
