The participant of the study was a sixth-grade student with Down syndrome selected from a special education school in eastern Taiwan. During the period of experiment, the researcher used electronic story books to teach the participant. The multiple-probe across-behavior design of the single subject research was used as the research method. The independent variable was electronic story books teaching. The dependent variable was the immediate and maintenance effects of functional vocabulary. Learning generalization abilities of the experiment effects were also included in the study. Data were analyzed by visual analysis and Tyron’s C statistics. The findings of the study were concluded as follows: 1.Using electronic story books to teach the functional vocabulary Chinese characters for the elementary student with Down syndrome in writing had immediate and maintenance effects. 2.Using electronic story books to teach functional vocabulary Chinese with phonetic symbols for the elementary student with Down syndrome in writing had immediate and maintenance effects. 3.Using electronic story books to teach Chinese functional vocabulary for the elementary student with Down syndrome in oral expression had immediate and maintenance effects. 4.Using electronic story books to teach Chinese functional vocabulary for the elementary student with Down syndrome had generalization effects. Finally, based on the results of this study, the researcher made some suggestions for the specific educations and future researchers. Chih-Kang Yang 楊熾康 2012 學位論文 ; thesis 148 |
