The qualitative content analysis was applied for the data collection such as the in-depth interview and field notes and the feedback from the members was analyzed in the research. The findings are illustrated by two ways. In the first part, the effects on the interpersonal meditation group are the following: 1) their physical sensitivity improved, as exhibited by their adaptation to pain and their quality of sleep; 2) emotionally, they showed an increase of positive emotions with less influence from what others’ appraisals; 3) in their interpersonal relationships, most of the members learned to apply love and caring in their taking care of themselves; and 4) some of them became more mindful of their experiences such as joy, tranquility, and happiness. In the second part, a reason for the body and mind changes was discovered: First of all, six curative factors such as a sense of the same feeling, group cohesiveness, catharsis, behavior imitation, instillation of hope, and existence were found among the group members. Secondly, body and mind changes through the meditation exercises were observed. These included relaxation, bare attention, striving, mindfulness, stability, sacred pauses, self-awareness, cognitive changes, personal experiences, and practices in the daily living. Thirdly, a combination of meditation experiences and group dynamics, integration of mind and spirit, and demonstrations from the group leader were found to be helpful. Finally, based on these findings and the researcher’s reflections, future research possibilities are recommended. Yi-Chao Wang Shu-Chung Chen 王沂釗 陳淑瓊 2012 學位論文 ; thesis 128 zh-TW
