Research procedures: 1. Sieved out Chinese Folk Literature from textbooks in Taiwan and analyzed how to teach. 2. Investigated the textbooks of Chinese Language Education Centers how to teach Chinese Folk Literature. 3. Proposed how to teach myths, legends, folk stories, proverbs, folk songs, and folk drama by their characteristics. 4. Taught Chinese Folk Literature in the classroom and reviewed the teaching and learning through language abilities (listening, speaking, reading and writing) and culture issues (knowing Chinese culture, comparing culture differences and similarities, respecting cultural differences). Research results: 1. Some of Chinese Folk Literature of the textbooks in Taiwan, emphasized Chinese culture, and little of them mentioned the issue of comparing culture differences and similarities, but none of them referred to respecting cultural differences. 2. Through the teaching of Chinese Folk Literature in the classroom, the students could improve their Chinese language abilities, and they were interested in the issues of knowing Chinese culture, comparing culture differences and similarities, respecting cultural differences. The meaning of this study is “Cultural Issues Teaching Mode”. Through discussing the issues of “knowing Chinese culture” and “comparing culture differences and similarities”, we will realize the ideal of “respecting cultural differences”.
