With the growing competition in the banking, mining and tourist sectors of Mongolia, impact of technological change, and a shortage of talented and qualified employees, great pressure is put on human resource managers to deliver business results. This research studies on recruitment and selection practices (R/S) of Mongolian business and manufacturing companies by means of questionnaire survey. The particular focus of the current research is upon the Recruitment and selection methods used, whether different practices are used for different categories of staff, and the satisfaction of the more-often-used R/S methods in Mongolian business organizations. Fifty-eight convenient samples of Mongolian companies were chosen as the research targets, and 168 valid questionnaires were returned. Results showed that ’Promotion-from-within’, ‘College/Universities’, ‘Employee referrals’, ‘Direct applications’, and ‘Advertisement in the media’ were more often used for recruiting job candidates at all levels. Regarding to the selection methods, ‘Application forms’, One-to-one interview’, ‘Bio (CVs)’ ‘Medical examinations’ ,and ’References’ were more often used by business organizations. In addition, this study found no differences between Recruitment and Selection methods among types of job vacancy. Furthermore, regardless of their positions, respondents reported high degree of satisfaction of the five more-often-used Recruitment and Selection methods. Results were discussed and suggestions for managerial implications and future study were also provided. 吳美連 學位論文 ; thesis en_US
