Summary: | 碩士 === 國立嘉義大學 === 輔導與諮商學系研究所 === 100 === The main purpose of the study was to investigate the relationship among perfectionism, trait anxiety and depression in junior high school students. The study adopted the method of survey research, and the instruments used in this study include subject demographic information, Perfectionism Scale, Trait Anxiety scale and Depression Screening for Children and Adolescent. The participants of the study were 1163 junior high school students in Kaohsiung city, Tainan City, Chiayi City and Chiayi County. The collected data were analyzed by descriptive statistics, one-way MANOVA, Pearson product-moment correlation, two-way ANOVA and multiple stepwise regression. The main findings are as follows:
1.The grades that junior high school students get in perfectionism, trait anxiety and depression are in medium.
2.Perfectionism, trait anxiety and depression vary significantly with gender and grade.
3.There is significantly positive correlation between perfectionism and depression in junior high school students.
4.There is significantly positive correlation between trait anxiety and depression in junior high school students.
5.There is significantly positive correlation between perfectionism and trait anxiety in junior high school students.
6.The depression level in junior high school students are significantly different because of the scores in perfectionism and trait anxiety.
7.The perfectionism and trait anxiety can be used to predict the depression level in junior high school students. The trait anxiety is the main variable to predict the depression.
Based on the finding in the study, researcher provides some suggestions for teachers, school counselors, parents and further studies.
