Summary:碩士 === 國立嘉義大學 === 中國文學系研究所 === 100 === Abstract This study investigates The Songs of the Midnight, a category of Wuge Xiqu (the Chinese folk songs in Nan Dynasty.) The design of this study focuses the subject on one category of Chinese folk songs, and discusses the works of The Songs of the Midnight from Nan Dynasty to Ching Dynasty, expecting to deeply explore this category of Chinese folk songs. The researcher collects the works of The Songs of the Midnight from Nan Dynasty to Ching Dynasty, categorizing them by dynasty, comparing the differences among these works in different dynasties, and analyzing their changes and relations. The finding of this study shows the style of The Songs of the Midnight is erotic, and the subjects mostly talk about love, expressing in feminine tone, telling the joy and sorrow in love. Besides, the features of The Songs of the Midnight are the sentence pattern (five characters a sentence, four sentences a songs), the usage of personal pronoun and double meaning words.
