Summary: | 碩士 === 國立彰化師範大學 === 教育研究所 === 100 === The study aimed to examine the relationship of social comparison, self-esteem and interpersonal relationships in adolescences. The study adopted survey method. Participants were 532 boys and girls from junior high school in Taichung city, Changhua county, Yunlin County and Nantou County. The descriptive statistics, t-test, one-way ANOVA, Pearson’s product-moment correlation and multiple regression analysis were adopted to analyze the data.
The findings of the study were as follows:
1.Self-improvement motivation was the highest in the level of social comparison motivation among adolescences.
2.Similar social comparison was the highest in the level of social comparison orientation among adolescences.
3.Adolescences held the attitude toward high self-esteem.
4.Several significant differences on satisfactions of social comparison motivation, social comparison orientation, self-esteem and interpersonal relationship between different genders were found.
5.Several significant differences on satisfactions of social comparison motivation, social comparison orientation and interpersonal relationship among different grades were found.
6.Several significant differences on satisfactions of social comparison orientation and self-esteem among different socioeconomic status were found.
7.There were significant correlations of all levels between social comparison motivation and social comparison orientation, and between self-esteem and interpersonal relationship.
8.Self-esteem could be predicted by the variables of all levels of social comparison motivation and social comparison orientation.
9.Interpersonal relationships could be predicted by the variables of self-esteem and all levels of social comparison motivation and social comparison orientation.
Finally, the study, according to the above findings, was to discuss and offer related suggestions for parents, adolescences, teachers, schools, relative educational staffs and further researches.
