The subjects of this study are the moderately disabled students' parents in junior high school of Taichung City. And the parenting stress questionnaire was employed to explore the the parenting stress of the disabled students’ parents when they make educational choices. Quantitative methods were employed for the investigation. Statistical methods such as cross-tables and card verification were employed to analyze the data. The results are summarized as follows: 1. As for the background variables of physically and mentally disabled students’ parents in Taichung city, there is no significant relationship between parenting stress and the variables such as parents’ gender, marital status and the category of disablity. Nevertheless, there is significant relationship between parenting stress and the varibles such as parents’ levels of education and identity relations. And further analysis indicates that more than half of the parents have parenting stress if none of the background variables are considered. 2. As for the educational perception variables of the moderate disabled students’ parents of Taichung City, there is significant relationship between the parenting stress and the varibles such as parents’ ability to care, their time to get along with their children, times of having meals and transition placement from the elementary school to junior high school. However, there is no significant relationship between parenting stress and the variables such as parents' financial status, parents’ way to reduce the stress, parents’ health status, parents’ way to solve parent-child conflicts, disabled students’ current learning, their future placement, their ability to deal with daily lives and their future employment. The result indicates that more than half of the parents of disabled studens still have the parenting stress. The parents of the moderately disabled students endure more parenting stress than the ones of average students. The related authorities and schools should make various laws and supporting measures to assist disabled students’ parents to reduce the stress of teaching disabled students to acqure life skills and help the parents to reduce the pressure in the perspectives of economy and family life. To avoid unnecessary disorder behavior, parents of disabled students should also get rid of the limits of conventional thinking and reduce the parenting stress by getting resources and assistance through a variety of networks.
