Summary:碩士 === 國立彰化師範大學 === 教育研究所 === 100 === The main purpose of this study was to explore the relationship between the school officials’ role performance and school effectiveness by junior high school teachers in Chiayi County and Chiayi City. First, the researcher discussed theoretical fundamentals and related researches through literature analysis. Second, a total of 534 teachers, randomly selected from public junior high school teachers in Chiayi County and Chiayi City, responded to a set of questionnaire consisting of three parts: teachers’ demographic information, teachers’ perceptions about school officals’ role performance, and teachers’ perceptions about school effectiveness. The data were analyzed using the statistic methods of descriptive statistics, t-test, one-way ANOVA, Pearson’s product-moment correlation using a package of SPSS for Windows 14.0. The main findings of this study were summarized as follows: 1.The teachers’ perceptions about school officials’ role performance and school effectiveness by junior high school teachers in Chiayi County and Chiayi City were both at the intermediate level or higher. 2.There were significant differences in the teachers’ perceptions about school officials’ role performance and school effectiveness by junior high school teachers in Chiayi County and Chiayi City in different job of positions and school size. 3.There were significant differences in the teachers’ perceptions about school effectiveness by junior high school teachers in Chiayi County and Chiayi City in different frequency of the interaction. 4.There were significant positive correlations between school officials’ role performance and school effectiveness perceived by junior high school teachers in Chiayi County and Chiayi City.
