Summary: | 碩士 === 國立彰化師範大學 === 地理學系 === 100 === The purpose of this research is to develope a campus orientation activity with the conceptual of orienteering. The activity is expected to integrate with daily teaching and to cultivate students’ spatial concept and observation. The spatial cognition is evaluated by test-based assessment which involves distance, vertical view, orientation, scale and location. The results were analyzed by Paired- Samples T Test. Then, the analysis would be used for exploring the difference of the spatial cognition of the 8th grade students after the orientation activity. Moreover, the different arrangements of the orientation activity and different backgrounds of the students would be treated as variables to investigate students’ performance. The results are as follows:
1. The spatial cognition of the students is obviously better than before, especially in vertical view conceptions, but there is a little discrepancy in orientation conceptions after the activity. Besides, their cognition of distance, vertical view and location is superior to that of orientation and scale.
2. Different control point establishments influence students’ performance. However, no matter what sequence of the activity implements are used, it makes no difference to the score of the control points and the finishing time.
3. Overall, gender, the score of the physical education and the spatial relationship have no influence on students’ performance except for the school achievement.
