The study comprised the hair dressers in Taiwan wi t h
emphasis on the degree of importance for vocational salon
professional courses in workplace and the difference of
professional knowledge degree required for workplace that
is actually owned by vocational beauty (hairdressing)
graduates in order to analyze the professional hairdressing
courses at vocational beauty (hairdressing) college and to
find out whether the current teaching is in line with the
technical requirement for hairdressing workplace.
A total of 800 questionnaires were issued and 510
questionnaires were received. After 91 invalid
questionnaires were deducted, the total number of valid
questionnaires was 419, yielding a valid questionnaire ratio
of 82.2%.
In general, hair dressers recognize the hairdressing
related courses scheduled by vocational high schools,are
needed for hair dressing professional compe tency in
vocational beauty (hair dressing),with r e l a t e d g r a d u a t e f a l l s
between “satisfied” to “average.”
They have the highest sat i s f a c t i o n on Hairdressing
Class C Certificate,but
have the lowest satisfaction on management and marketing
aspects.
The study proposed specific recommendation as
reference for compe tent authority of education, , vocational
beauty (hair dressing) teachers and future research, in order
to improve the courses and achieve better hair dressing
course teaching.
