The purpose of this study was to investigate the critical successful factors for students’ mathematic performance. This paper examines the critical factors that influenced students’ mathematics performance by meta-analysis which tested overall factors from the empirical results of individual studies.
The data was collected from database including 3 English journals and 50 Chinese journals. The period is from 2000 to 2012 met the criteria that impact on mathematics performance.
We sets four major dimensions including teacher, teaching materials, student, and environmental factors which contributed to the students’ mathematics performance.
Statistical values was tested and analyzed by calculating each Meta quantitative values, such as Fail safe N, Heterogeneity Q test, significant weighted average Zc value, True population effect size, 95% confidence interval, and explained variance.
The results of this study showed as below:
1. Teaching attitude is the most significant factor that affect in teacher dimension.
2. Assessment ways and curriculum design are the most significant factor that affect in teaching materials dimension.
3. Students’ learning motivation is the most significant factor that affect in student dimension.
4. Learning environment is the most significant factor that affect in environmental dimension.
