Summary: | 碩士 === 國立交通大學 === 光電工程學系 === 100 === Nowadays, with introduction of the 3D movie ‘Avatar’ and 3D TVs in the market, 3D displays have been focused more than ever. However, both 3D movies and 3D TVs are required to wear 3D glasses to watch, which is really uncomfortable and inconvenient. Consequently, the final expectation of users is a 3D display with naked eye. The 2D-multiplexed auto-stereoscopic displays are in fashion because of multi-view and without wearing 3D glasses.
Conventional 2D-multiplexed auto-stereoscopic 3D display has low resolution and limited viewing angles with fixed positions issues. A high resolution time-multiplexed backlight with tracking system for multi-user applicable wide-viewing auto-stereoscopic LCD was proposed, including an adjustable fine-stripe (AFS) backlight structure and a micro lens structure to keep high resolution, a tracking system to track the position of each observer, an algorithm to calculate the best projection position of each observer and a 120Hz LCD to display image. Therefore, the proposed display can keep high resolution and accomplish sequential 2-view for multi-user without sending wrong images to incorrect eyes.
