碩士 === 國立體育大學 === 體育推廣學系碩士班 === 100 === An Investigation into the Recognition of Safety among Parents in Children’s Playground Abstract The main object of the study is to understand the recognition of safety regarding the facilities, equipments and surrounding environment in children’s playground, suggestions were made to provide as reference for related researchers and actual workers. The concept of the study was to conduct a survey among parents of children in five nursery schools in Taichung. The information gathered thru the survey was a descriptive statistics, independent t-test, one way ANOVA analysis were made on the data gathered. The conclusions of the study are as follows: 1. Parents bring their children to playgrounds at least once a week, the most number of playgrounds selected was an open-air garden type, and the slide was the frequently seen type of playground facility chosen. 2. 73.4% of parents browse at the safety reminders in posted in playground areas. 3. The safety check made by parents regarding playground facilities is mainly “Check outer appearance”, most important is “sharp edges” of the facilities or equipments. 4. Regarding the “Safety Recognition test”, parents mainly choose “Actual recognition”, and among the priority thing to investigate is “Removal of accumulated water”. 5. Among different gender, all of the female subjects give importance to safety check of children’s playgrounds facilities and surrounding environment. 6. Under age, education, income and frequency of participation, no difference is evident, it shows that all the subjects give high importance to safety in children’s playground facilities and surrounding environment. 7. Under the occupation category, difference in occupation may have different influence regarding the recognition of safety in children’s playground area.
