The campus athletic championship competitions such as basketball, volleyball take place routinely every year. In campus, athletic activities take place either during class or off class, which implies possible risk factor. This study aimed to explore campus-related cause of sports injury, and the relationship between sports injuries and athletic habits. With this exploration, a further and comprehensive cognition of sports injury prevention and suggestion of management will provide a reference as propaganda on campus sports injury and sports reminder for reducing the risk of campus related sports injuries. Materials and Methods:This study recruited the first three grades high school students in Taoyuan County Nankan Senior High School. This research instrument was self-edited questionnaire with exs injury repert review surveyed sportlated references and on-camps report from health care service of Nankan Senior High School. Taking two classes for random sampling method, 1230 of 1315 questionnaires were returned with the effective questionnaire returned-ratio is 93.5%. Among the total participants, 878 (71.4%) were reported sports injury. Data were analyzed by SPSS15.0, statistic results were listed bellowed.Results:High-participation sports experiencing campus related sports injury reached significant difference (P <0.5) which was higher than expectation, of which, a higher proportion of sports injury was found with one to two hours each time of sports (P <0.5). Participants were reported high proportion of sports injury in basketball than others. Significant difference was found in athletic activity with 15 to 30 minutes warm-up while no significant difference was found in injury incident without cool-down.A total of 878 (71.4%) reported experiencing sports injury on campus, of which two to three times of injury incident was the most as estimate. According to this study, 651 (74.1%) were reported the most injury incident took place during gym class. Three major factors that caused sports injury were respectively incorrect movement, insufficient warm-up, and unfamiliar sports skills. The major management of injury was campus health service. A significant difference was found (P <0.5) in correlation between athletic habits and cause of injury, cause of injury of different sports duration each week were abnormal psychological condition, foul and violence. Causes of injury among different sports duration were foul and violence, incorrect movement and abnormal psychological condition. Significant differences were found (P > .0 5) in causes of injury of the most participating sports were foul and violence, poor physical capacity, and insufficient warm-up and in causes of injury at different warm-up time point were abnormal psychological condition and facilities. Campus related sports injury with participants’ BMI>27 showed no significant difference.Conclusions:For the outcome of sports injury prevention recommendations of the cognitive approach, school teachers promote the prevention of sports injuries of reference, and students engaged in sports should pay attention to the matter, hoping to be dropped under the various efforts can campus sports injury hazardsminimum, this chapter will state the conclusions and recommendations.
