Shooting sports injuries are mostly chronic and easily ignored by athletes. Long-term injury history might affect their athletic career and quality of life of elite athletes. The shooting athletes of The 2011 National Games were recruited in this study. The questionnaire designed by Dr. Shen-Kai Chen was used for collecting information about sports injury and the self-efficacy in sports injury prevention. The aim of this study is to investigate the current status of sports injuries, cause of sports injury and the self-efficacy in sports injury prevention. The major occurrences of sport injury were at the wrist and the shoulder. The most often type of sport injuries was muscle strain. Most athletes had not routinely done warm-up before exercise and cool-down after exercise. Because inuries were chronic or acute exacerbation of chronic injury in nature, therefore often neglected by athletes. The major cause of sport injuries were overuse, lack of warm-up and muscle weakness. Most of the athletes thought that they had medium (54%) to sufficient(29.6%) knowledge about sports injury prevention and self-efficacy prevention behavior. Knowledge of sports injury prevention and self-efficacy prevention behavior was positivelycorrelated with years of shooting experience, level of education, time in warm-up and cool- down. The shooting sports injuries were mostly chronic or acute exacerbation from chronic injury. Overuse ,lack of warm-up and muscle weakness might lead to sports injuries. Most of the shooting athletes were confident in knowledge of sports injury prevention. More than half of the injuries were delayed with no medical treatment until natural recovery failed. The injury prevention score was positively correlated with years of sports experience, level of education, time in warm-up and cool-down. There was more than half of shooting athletes had sports injuries, but only 13.8% of the athletes suspended their training or competition. This study only focused on the rifle and pistol shooting athletes who participating in the national games, the results may not be generalized to other sports or shooting athletes. Hopefully, the results could provide information in developing the training or treatment plan for shooting athletes, coaches, trainers, or school nurses. Li-Lan Fu 傅麗蘭 2012 學位論文 ; thesis 88 zh-TW |
