Summary: | 碩士 === 國立暨南國際大學 === 社會政策與社會工作學系 === 100 === The purpose of the study is to explore the operation, function and influence of external supervisor in social welfare organizations. The in-depth interview method is applied. The fifteen research subjects were selected purposefully to include supervisors, social workers, and external supervisors.
The research findings are:
1. The model of external supervision is group supervision. The content of external supervision activities are case work supervision, self-caring of social workers, and improving group relationship.
2. There are different functions of supervisor and external supervisor. The internal supervisor stresses in the administrative function, while the external supervisor focus on educational function.
3. The relationship between supervisors and social workers becomes better while the external supervision got involved.
4. The influence of external supervision is positive on social workers, internal supervisors, and organizations.
The following recommendations are proposed:
1. For the system of supervision in social welfare organizations:
To assist internal supervision function effectively, to improve the ability of supervisors, to differentiate the function of internal supervisors and external supervisors.
2. For the external supervision:
Organizations should understand how external supervision works, to help the external supervisor understanding the organizational culture, to increase the supervision between organizations and government, to increase the function of external supervision, to increase the individual supervision.
3. For the supervisees:
Organizations should respect the needs of supervisees, to make a closer relationship between the external supervisor and social workers, to reduce pressure on the supervision of social workers.
