More changes in people's behavior as well as their lifestyle towards sustainability should be encouraged. Recently, more attention has been paid to a design for a sustainable behavior as well as to a design for a sustainable lifestyle. This study used Case-Based Reasoning (CBR), concept of Kansei Engineering, and Design with Intent toolkit, proposing a two-mode design aid. Based on Lockton’s Design with Intent, we built the domain model of CBR, and then established the Design for Sustainable Behavior case library. This case library consists of some sustainable product designs already in use as well as of the concepts about some products which are expected to lead towards chnages in people's behavior. For each of these cases, the expected behavior change, the design pattern and the technology in use have been analized and included into the case library. In respectance towards the Design with Intent suggested by Locton, the relationship between the target behavior and a design pattern is based and constructed upon the cases. In addition, the technologies used in the cases have also been used to present yet another relationship: the one with the target behavior. Following the CBR 4R cycle, product developer can obtain the suggestion of design pattern and technology use given by this study to develop sustainable items. The statistical correlation between the sustainable Kansei words as well as the design patterns and applied technologies too has been based on the survey results. Any of the significant correlations between them have been highlighted for those designers who have interest in finding the appropriate design pattern or technology which could generate a new design and lead to a sustainable lifestyle matching the description. All the results are presented by tables. If using the tables attached, the designers should get more ideas involving the design pattern and the technologies for a given target sustainable behavior or a sustainable description.These tables show the recording of the relationship mentioned above. This study aimed to help the designers with coming up with a design concept for a sustainable behavior and lifestyle. Up until now, fifty cases, six target behaviors, twenty sustainable Kansei words, fifty design patterns and twenty-three technology applications have been included in the research. Several useful tables, initiating either from the target behavior or from the sustainable Kansei words, are provided as a tool for finding the appropriate design patterns as well as the technologies in the design processes.
