However, the technique is not fully developed using Roll to Roll (R2R) process for massive production. The aim of this thesis is to provide the relevant theoretical foundations for the R2R system, which is then verified by experiment. The simulation environment is constructed in MATLAB/Simulink, with Graphical User Interface (GUI) to set each parameter and simulate R2R system. Tuning control parameters is a time-consuming task; in addition, system parameters like area moment of inertia and friction coefficient are time varying. In this thesis, an auto-tuning PID controller will be designed to search controller’s parameters of moving web and to get a better response.
