The chemical industry across the field of plastics, synthetic fibers, petroleum, pharmaceutical, textile, etc., among which, petrochemical industry greatly impacts national economic development. Petrochemical and Chlor-Alkali industry have become major forces behind promoting industrial transformation and upgrading, as well as maintaining domestic economic development and enhancing people’s living standard. The environmental problems become increasingly serious, such as energy depletion, greenhouse effect, ozone layer holes, and large amount of harmful substances emissions. Besides, high energy consumption and high pollution during production, the petrochemical industry and chlor-alkali industry bring public safety hazards and derive serious environmental problems nowadays. The objectives of this study are threefold: (1) to summarize the current status of the retrospection practice of standard gas in Chlor-Alkali industry. (2) to investigate the standard operating processes in various companies. And (3) to establish standard gas retrospection and analysis methods for green Chlor-Alkali industry. This study found that, combined the needs and techniques of Chlor-Alkali chemical plant, the supplier of gas detectors, and the standard gas suppliers, the standard gas retrospection and analysis system can be established. By tracking back to international standards, the calibration of detectors will maintain better accuracy, which enables an accident or leakage can be readily detected and thus public saefty promptly managed for a Chlor-Alkali chemical plant.
