The problem of an aging population in Taiwan’s agricultural society is even more serious how to make old age farmers to success in the latter half of his life aging, in fact contribute to the overall development of society. Education or learning for senior citizens farmers is also important and positive topic. The purpose of this study is to understand the elderly farmers in the face of participation in learning activities, the consideration of motivations as well as the obstacles you may encounter, and the elderly farmers demographic characteristics of motivation and participation in learning hinder produce significant differences. In this study, the data collected with the elderly farmers with one on one oral in Chang-Hua County. The number of samples is 382. In this study, elderly farmers involved in the motivation can be divided into five categories by factor analysis: the cognitive interest, social stimulation, social contact, professional promote and family togetherness. Elderly farmers involved in the barriers can be divided into three categories: the situational barriers, institutional barriers, and dispositional barriers. This study to get the results by single factor analysis of variance as follows: different age, education level, marital status, economic status and health status with motivation and barriers have significant differences.
