Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立中興大學 === 台灣文學與跨國文化研究所 === 100 === Wu He, in his book Remains of Life, depicted the Wushe Event as a history of sexuality, along which the appropriateness of causes of historical events was examined and verified. Sexuality is the theme of Wu He’s book. In accordance with Wu He’s perspectives toward sex as the axis, the author argued the influences through the angles of sex interacting respectively with history, civilization, and politics, as well as further interpreted the occurrence of Wushe Event and the sexual historical points of view of the survivors and their descendants. This paper contains five chapters. The research motives, questions, methods and literature reviews are introduced in chapter one. The second chapter investigated the structure of the history of sexuality in Remains of Life. The characters were oppressed after the event. Through their sexual experiences, however, they had been encouraged, regained their confidence, and opened a new page of life. Chapter three displayed that sexuality is reproductive and violent in the relationship of sex and civilization. The two features push for the development of civilization. Yet, sexuality is in turn bridled by the frame and brutality of civilized morality. In chapter four, through the discussion of sex and politics, the dominance between male and female was analyzed as a metaphor of the invasion of colonization and alien regime which was depicted as men rap women. The final chapter formed conclusion.
