In1875, After the Ching Dynasty adopted the policy, enlightenment and placation of the tribes in the mountains, the Hans entered Puli to cultivate at great amounts, which brought the folklore beliefs of local countries in the meanwhile, converting Pazeh Tribes into Han Tribes severely. Their traditional culture almost disappeared. In 1871, all people in Aoran Tribe converted to Christianity because of Christian medical preaching. British preachers assisted to build the church, which became an essential source area of Christian belief in Puli. The developmental process of Ailan Church made important connections with Pazeh Tribes’ social activities in Puli, educational culture and medical development. In recent years, emigrated Pazeh Tribes’ People formed the organization “Lan-Chou,” concentrating the tribal consciousness by means of Christian belief. “Cultural Association of Pazeh Tribes in Nantou County” in Puli devoted itself to reviving the traditional culture with great efforts through the church organization.
