Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立中興大學 === 資訊科學與工程學系所 === 100 === With the growing Internet application services, HTML4, which adopts different plus-ins for different multimedia applications, is no longer able to handle the challenges of security concern and the request of cross-platform feature. In 2007, HTML5 comes up to resolve these shortages. In this thesis, we study the performance variations of web multimedia streaming delivery using HTML5 video fallback mechanism. We focus on the performance comparisons of cpu and memory usage under different hardware platforms, operating systems, and browsers. HTML5 video fallback mechanism is advantageous to support the cross-platform feature. but it fails to provide the best video format and resolution to clients. Hence, we enhance HTML5 video fallback mechanism to be client-customized, and to alleviate the resource usage and to provide the better play quality.
