Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立中興大學 === 科技管理研究所 === 100 === The aim of this research is to measure production efficiencies of hotel in Thailand by Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) which is a multi-factor productivity analysis model for measuring the relative efficiencies of a homogeneous set of decision making units (DMU) by DEAP software. Furthermore, this research also provides inefficiency factor by Regression analysis. The estimation of hotel management efficiency in Thailand evaluates efficiency from four regions (Central, Northern, North-eastern, and Southern). This study considered by 1 output variable (Total revenue) and 3 output variables (Operating expenses ,Amount of room, Number of Employee) in 3 years (2005, 2007 and 2009). After estimation efficiency, we can compare the performance each regional and including average value the whole of hotel efficiency in Thailand. The VRS model is used in this study. The empirical results of this study shows that the DEA and Regression analysis can be applied to improve the efficiency of productions by reducing losses due to the effects of different production factors. Central area and Northern area are no correlation between input variables and output variable. Amount of room signify total revenue in Northeastern area. Amount of room and number of employee are correlation with total revenue in Southern area. Moreover, the DEAP software and E-views together with the efficient input data and impact factor can be used as a criterion for further planning in development of others projects.
