The weather of the island is unique in its own regard. Traditionally, the construction of highway surface mainly paved with DGAC(Dense Graded Asphalt Concrete).However, DGAC cannot be satisfied as for as its quality is concerned. DGAC often results inevitably in rutting, shoving, potholes, weathering and raveling, etc. The paving of highway using DGAC cannot provide the long-term service quality owing to the ever-increasing traffic flow and frequent weather changes. When driving in rain on such DGAC highway occurring water membrane and water fog, drivers` safety are thus threatened. The paving surface often cracks by rain , and its results are the needs of constant and expensive maintenance. As aspect of safety,The increase of water porosity of PAC could decrease of water fog level and accumulation(from 0.241 to .759 ratio). As to aspect of economic value, the endurance of PAC increased (from 0.310 to 0.690 ratio). Therefore, the frequencies of road fixation and maintenance fees could be decreased.
