Summary: | 碩士 === 明新科技大學 === 電機工程研究所 === 101 === In recent years, the best selling are 3C products especially in mobile devices, such as notebooks, tablet PCs, personal digital assistants (PDAs), smart phones and play-station portables (PSPs) etc. Personal mobile devices are increasingly universal. People can not only surf the Internet to get more information anytime and anywhere, but they can also download videos quickly with mobile devices. As a result, the issues of mobile devices in various media environments have already been a public concern.
In this thesis, network simulator 2 (NS2) is applied to simulate mobile Ad hoc networks (MANET) in a variety of environments with a variety of transmitting power. and a variety of routing protocols. By adjusting the transmitting power, the best performance (packet delivery ratio) of the system can be attained. Simulation results show that the influence of transmitting power on the system performance is nonlinear. In other words, when the transmitting power increases, the system performance will not increase necessarily, that is because the transmitting power increase will affect other neighbor nodes. Power control schemes are important to the MANET system. In the other hand, mobile devices have always been oriented towards the slim and light design, the energy efficiency of mobile devices is very important. Power control scheme not only can increase the life of battery but also of mobile devices.
