碩士 === 明新科技大學 === 服務事業管理研究所 === 101 === The Goal of this research is to discuss the current situation of elders living alone using the emergency service system and their technology acceptance in Miaoli county. Using questionnaires, volunteers called the elders living alone in Miaoli county who installed the elders protection network to collect data daily. The result showed that the participated elders’ economic status, their current health status, their current living arrangement, their experience of fallen in the past, and the length of using the emergency service system have significant effects on their technology acceptance. The current situation is not enough elders carry out the emergency service plan, data showed that only 10% of the elders wearinig the emergency button as instructed. 90% of the elders are satisfied with the emergency service system; however, only 25% of them are willing to participate in telecare service if they have to pay to use the service. The purpose of this research is to provide useful information to the organization or personals in charge of promoting the emergency service system in their community, in order to achieve the government’s goal of implementing Aging in place and local care.
