So, there’s no urgent to assess the necessity of professional manpower of the long-term care. Among them, the rate of healthcare worker is high in long-term care institutions. However, the healthcare workers have to work hard with low pay and they also have lack of the satisfaction in work and the related-policies on the welfare. These become a burden and result in the instability of their working. Therefore, the goals of the research are to know the situation of healthcare workers in long-term care institutions and their working achievement. In order to know the situation of healthcare workers in long-term care institutions and their working achievement in Ping-tung area, we designed a questionnaire which included the qualities of these workers, care-manpower, working content, applying-ways and working achievement to survey the workers in 52 long-term institutions in Ping-tung. We sent out 410 questionnaires and got 330 valid questionnaires back. The response rate is 80.48%. From the research, we get several conclusions that in these long-term care institutions: first, the workers’ nationalities are most China and Taiwan. Second, they are most middle age and married females(95.8%). Third, their education levels are most senior high(58.2%).Forth, the payment is ranging from 20000 to 30000 (255 workers,77.3%).Fifth, Most of these workers have worked 1 to 5 years(46.7%)and sixth, most of them (290 workers, 87.9%) have the training certificate. However, there are only 99 workers are qualified with C level certificate (30.0%). That means most of them are not qualified. The long-term care institutes performed workers’ on job training course which reached(83%). And most institutions hold the training when they have new staffs(97.9%). The high working achievement of the workers in Ping-tung area lies in those who are foreign, high educational level, and the less care residents. The lower working achievement the workers have when they get higher score in indirect nursing activity and working load. (p<0.05). Suggestions: Encourage the workers to get certificate and build a certificate system. Combine the salary with certificate. By doing so, it can inspire the work potential. In addition, to promote the quality of long-term care and job-stability, we can use the encouragement elements which include the responsibility of working identification and the maturity of care-abilities. 鍾蝶起 2009 學位論文 ; thesis 129 zh-TW
