The research adopted the cluster sampling in January, 2012, selecting 900 students from tenth to twelfth grade in fifteen public and private schools in Taichung area, then collecting data by implementing self-designed questionnaire. The statistical methods involved include:descriptive statistics,ANOVA, and t-test. The conclusions of the research are presented below: 1. The current situation of the school implementation of service-learning curricula and student participation is that almost 70% of the interviewees state that the schools have related curricula to service-learning, and for those students whose schools have no such courses, 44% of the respondents still have service experience. 2. In terms of the school implementation of student service-learning, the results of the research have shown that versatile as well as multi-dimensional arrangements can motivate students’ participation. 3. Of all the factors influencing service-learning participation, the factor “self value” takes the lead, while the “family factor” stays behind. 4. The variable of the public schools, the private schools, and the school systems reaches significant difference in “the cognition of service-learning,” “the factors influencing service-learning participation,” “the functions and values of service-learning”, and “the reflection and feedback of service-learning.” Furthermore, the cognition of private school students is remarkably higher than that of the public school students. 5. The variations in age and grade show prominent divergence in “the cognition of service-learning,” “the factors influencing service-learning participation,” “the functions and values of service-learning”, and “the reflection and feedback of service-learning.” To be more specific, the tenth graders show high cognition, the eleventh graders medium, and the twelfth graders low. 6. The gender difference shows significant difference in the four factors above, and females tend to overtop males in every aspect. 7. Different religious beliefs cause significant difference in “the reflection and feedback of service-learning” and “the functions and values of service-learning,” but not in “the factors influencing service- learning participation,” Moreover, the cognition of those with religious beliefs is higher. 8. Social status reveals no significant difference in the four factors above. 9. The variable of active and passive participation shows significant difference in “the cognition of service learning,” “the factors influencing service learning participation,” “the functions and values of service-learning”, and “the reflection and feedback of service-learning.” Kuo,Chu-Hsun 郭秋勳 2012 學位論文 ; thesis 106 zh-TW
