To maintain the quality of the network, it is required for network manager to monitor the network traffic effectively. Since network transmission speed has become the magnitude of Gigabits per second, it is not easy to capture all network packets to count the volume of the network traffic. One possible solution is to make use of the NetFlow technology to reduce the resource required for measuring network traffic. In this paper, we propose to apply packet sampling technique on NetFlow to further reduce the resource required by measuring network traffic.
