Summary:碩士 === 銘傳大學 === 公共事務學系碩士在職專班 === 100 === ABSTRACT Study on Working Stress of Policewomen in Taipei City Police Station by LIAO, HSIU-HUNG June 2012 ADVISOR(S): Dr. HUANG, HUAN-JUNG、Dr. WU, KUN-LU DEPARTMENT: DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC AFFAIRS MAJOR:PUBLIC AFFAIRS DEGREE: EXECUTIVE MASTER OF PUBLIC AFFAIRS In order to carry out the policy of gender equality, National Police Agency, Ministry of Interior informed officially that all qualifiers of basic unit administration police examinations, police college graduates and qualifiers of police examinations should be dispatched to the frontline and work as field police officers after graduation since 2006. The purpose of this study is to explore the current working stress of policewomen in Taipei City police stations and the impact of field duty on them, summarize the sources of direct and indirect working stress. The study objects are policewomen in Taipei City police station. Intensive interviewing of qualitative research was utilized. The data was summarized and analyzed. The findings of the study are as below: 1.Some policewomen aren’t satisfied with the planning of residential environment. 2.The interactions with colleagues and local people are still affected by gender for policewomen. 3.The police equipments aren’t designed specially for policewomen, which affect policewomen physically due to long-term load. 4.Supervisors’ leadership and governance on policewomen result in psychological stress no matter if there are any different approaches. 5.Rotating shift system results in physical and psychological overload for policewomen and negatively affects their interactions with families. 6.There are more psychological stresses when performing field sobriety tests or exercising law enforcement for policewomen. They don’t feel comfortable when perform sobriety tests in the period. 7.The work characteristics of police station affect policewomen’s life quality, interpersonal relationship and interaction with families. 8.All policewomen want to make career changes through examination or advanced studies. Finally, based on the findings mentioned above, suggestions are put forward, including that the residential space and quality for policewomen should be improved. The suggestions can be used as references for National Police Agency and police authorities to make policies related to policewomen in future.
