A study of leisure benefits of recreational activities involving parents and their children in Kinmen area

碩士 === 銘傳大學 === 觀光事業學系碩士在職專班 === 100 === This study aims to explore the differences and beneficial results of the participation of parents in parent-child activities in Kinmen through questionnaire survey. A sample of 300 parents of children in Kinmen kindergarten was stratified, among which 294 were effective. The analysis was done with SPSS19 and the result shows: 1. There were significant differences in recreational activities of parents and children due to their education background, major participants, occupation and monthly household income. 2. There were significant differences between the motivation of parents participating in recreational activities and their background including children’s sex, parents’ sex, educational level, income, participation times and particiaption period. There is no significant difference among the relationship between participators and children, chidlren’s age, parents’ age and the main participator. 3. There were significant differences between beneficial result and parents’ age, educational level, occupation, recreation times and recreation period. There is no significance difference among the relationship between participators and children, chidlren’s sex, children’s age, parents’ age, the main participator, and participation period. According to the result, this study suggests: 1. Parents should spend more time with their children in various recreational activities, search for the children’s interests, form a habit and implement it. 2. The government can build sports parks, renovate playground facilities, and increase the citizens’ opportunities of participation in recreational activities. In addition, the government can propose budget of facility maintenance and repair to ensure safety, rendering a nice and safe recreational activity space. 3. Further study can be done with qualitative research method. Through observations and deep interviews, parent’s participation in recreational activities will be deeply understood.
