| Summary: | 碩士 === 銘傳大學 === 經濟學系碩士班 === 100 === Due to the advent of information society, internet access has been used as the measure of the quality of social life. The development of the internet plays a role of reducing the distance between countries. To deliver great volume information exchange not only can improve the work efficiency, but also encourage the social efficiency. Therefore, the purpose of this thesis is to analyze the internet behavior and usage in Taiwan, to explore the decisive factor and effects of using internet and the purposes of internet application.
In this study, the data of “Digital Divide Survey in Taiwan” is from Research, Development and Evaluation Commission, Executive Yuan’s survey since 2004 to 2010. Using the propensity score matching method to do long-term and extensive study. The result shows that higher education and income levels are using the internet and application more. The requirement of internet usage is related to the different type of job. In region, it shows that internet application in city is significant. It is far behind infrastructure in suburban, and due to the different life and work style, suburban shows not significant. In age, young adult group using the internet obviously. In Gender, it shows no significant effect. Due to the growing popularity of smartphone, internet application was reaching the high peak in 2007. The worldwide financial tsunami result in less using information in 2008.
