The purpose of the study is to explore the present situations, correlations, differences, and relationships between attitudes toward life and living adjustments for higher grade public elementary school students in Taipei City. This study applied the questionnaire of “Attitudes toward Life Scale” and “Living Adjustment Scale” for elementary school students, and the study samples were 2011 school year 482 primary higher grade students in Taipei. The applied statistical analyses were descriptives, 1-Way MANOVA, and Structural Equation Modeling (SEM). The crucial findings are summarized as follows: Both development of attitudes toward life and living adjustment for higher grade public primary students in Taipei City are in the medium-high level, “accepting oneself ” was the highest score attitudes toward life, and “adaptation to peer” was the highest score within living adjustment . The significant differences on “attitudes toward life” were gender, academic achievements and whether or not on accepting life education courses about life attitudes development. The significant differences on “living adjustment ” were gender, academic achievements and family status. This study has confirmed higher grade primary students’ attitudes toward life had significant positive influence on living adjustment by SEM. This study finally proposed some suggestions for education-related organizations, teachers, parents, and future researchers.
