Aiming at 406 teachers in 33 public elementary schools in Nantou County, questionnaire survey was preceded. The self-compiled Disaster Prevention Literacy Scale, Disaster Prevention Belief Scale, and Disaster Prevention Teaching Behavior Scale were utilized as the research tools for analyses and discussions. The research outcomes showed that the disaster prevention literacy, belief, and teaching behavior of elementary school teachers in Nantou County presented positive effects where female teachers outperformed male teachers. Besides, subject teachers and administrative teachers outperformed homeroom teachers in disaster prevention teaching behaviors. Teachers participating in in-service workshops and taking disaster prevention courses did not present obvious differences on teaching behaviors, but the ones with 16-20 year teaching experiences appeared better performance on disaster prevention literacy and teaching behavior than the others. The disaster prevention belief of elementary school teachers in Nantou County presented significantly positive correlations with the disaster prevention attitude and teaching behavior, and the linear regression showed remarkable effects of disaster prevention attitude, skill, and belief on disaster prevention teaching behavior. With the analysis of AMOS6.0 Structural Equation, the effect of Disaster Prevention Belief on Teaching Behavior was apparent, while the correlations among other dimensions were not obvious.
