Through adjusting the radius of the dielectric rods, the researcher found the transmission spectra of the filters are tunable. According to the results, the researcher has successfully developed the low-pass, high-pass, and band-pass filters. Furthermore, the researcher added four dielectric rods in the line-defect waveguide to form a resonant-type filter. By this design, the center frequency of the filtered wave could be adjusted by setting the distance between the dielectric rods. Besides, the full width at half maximum (FWHM) of the filtered wave could be controlled by adjusting the radius of the dielectric rods as well. In conclusion, the proposed filters have the features of simplification and convenience for two-dimensional cubic photonic crystals. They are easy to adjust the characteristics of the filters.
